Is It Possible?

I'm a bit of a Death Note noob but I just got through episode 26 a few days ago and stumbled upon the movies online. Feel free to spoil anything you want for me below, the series ended for me when L died, I know it's going to suck without him.

But the premise of this movie is rather interesting, I haven't seen the first movie, but do you think it's possible that L finds a way to prevent his death in the days after he stages his death? So many of the unspoken rules of the Death Note leading up to his death seemed so damn convenient that I felt L really had won against Light but was cheated out of it, the whole memory wipe thing especially drove me nuts.

Do you think it's possible that if he destroys the note his name was written on or something and it's after the date that he would've died from Rem's note he doesn't die from the Death Note?

Although I guess what I'm really hoping for is a L spin off series that I know won't happen :/
