I personally dislike the way things are written by pronunciation like "Desu Noto" on this site, as it's clear it's intended to be "Death Note" "L" and "Light," but whatever floats your boat.

I dislike it too, but unfortunately it's an otaku thing. They think they appear to be more knowledgeable of Japanese culture if they write the words Japanese-like. Never expect hardcore anime fans (otakus) to think or act like normal humans do. They always try to do everything differently.
shareand they are idiots, as first, japanese has not got an R sound OR an L sound, they have a weird hyrbrid of the two that also seems to have a little bit of a D sound in it.
and two, the creator of the works has said the character names specificly, and what the creator says, goes, no matter what.
so your saying they say "Doddiepop" or "Doddercoaster"................so why would he be called kira, which is the japanese way of pronouncing killer (according to the anime), i didnt think he was called "kida" they may have copyright issues with the dark knight.
