Questionable remarks in the comments section above.
in the "comments" section above, two of the posters are suspiciously over-effusive in their comments. One has no posting history, the second ("Potenza") is involved with the film itself!
Putting aside what appears to be a couple of marketing plants, the other three (seemingly) objective comments sum this film up. It is mediocre at best, certainly not worthy of the selective praise on the film's one-sheet.
The cinematography is above average for a documentary and there are several grand, sweeping shots of Brazli. But it's not enough to warrant seeing this film.
The story is meandering and the subject itself isn't explored too deeply. While the film conveys the horror of Sao Paulo life, it only does so from the periphery, by no means a grand examination.
Unfortunately there's just not much here to work with, thus it's a slow-paced film, which drags at several points in it's 85 min TRT. There is little of an arc to the few storylines told and most of those few are redundant, whether it's the frogs or showing graphic surgery.
It's easy to leave the theater with the impression that this should have been bigger and more, that with all due respect to the filmmakers, they came nowhere near reaching potential.
