Haven't seen any other posts on this, but anyone have an idea for what was causing them? My daughter loves this movie and today I noticed when the axiom lands on earth it causes a big cloud of dirt...so I thought maybe that's what the other ones were. Any thoughts?

In fact, we see Wall-E protecting the plant-filled EVE during a thunderstorm.
Therefore, the dust storms are caused by the wind picking up dry dirt, of which there is a lot.
