Maybe movies should show intelligent marijuana users

It would help the case with pro-marijuana groups that Hollywood should remove the stereotypes that people that use marijuana are lazy and careless. The only movie that I can think of from the top of my head that deviates from the stereotype is Road Trip. So if Seth Rogan happens to be reading this, maybe try another strategy.

I agree. I get tired of having to prove myself to people when they find out I smoke weed.

A LOT of things are not as they seem.

A lot of studies actually show that marijuana users are more likely to have above-average intelligence. This is believed to be because more intelligent people are not as likely to blindly follow social norms.

Very well said.

But the government has got a different agenda, and Hollywood must obey the white house Goebbels.

i can see where you are coming from but a smart character wouldn't really do well in a movie like this. it would have been counter productive to this plot.

reply

I don't believe it is possible to ruin the plot of this movie. Just not possible.

Harold and Kumar are both very smart and have highly respectable jobs. So there's at least one set of intelligent stoners.

Shhh... there’s no such thing as intelligent potheads to the Jeff Sessions types (they are unfortunately a majority in the country). Ya know, the uptight fundamentalists who assure themselves they are superior to everyone, they deny science, never hold their own accountable for real bad shit that they say and do, and basically they have a lot of shit to spew.

Hollywood? They have unashamedly made stoners the butt of the joke since forever (hey, that doesn’t sound like a part their so-called agenda). Occasionally, the end results have been funny. I mean in comedies like this one it simply makes sense to have a bunch of goofballs.

That said, I do agree that the image needs to change. But I do think more characters in shows and movies these days are seen smoking pot and they’re not exactly portrayed as being over-the-top airheads. In other words, modern Hollywood’s PC propaganda! (As the right-wing filth would say). Good!

9 to 5.. those girls are whip smart and they still spark up and get silly. I love that scene, often wonder if they were actually stoned. It’s very well played.

Do they still make stoner movies, ive not seen any in a long time?

good question
