When I saw this movie for the first time I kept noticing the California Tag number 2PCE275 was on the following:
1. Lincoln Town Car
2. Skin Head’s Red Chevy Pick Up
3. Simon’s Car (The back plate)
4. The New York Gangster’s Infinity.
I was just wondering if there is some hidden Zen meaning or just a goof as mentioned.
On many films where I've either acted or shot stills, the props people have fake license plates with either magnets or sticky tape on the back. This is so they can put their fake plates on the car in the movie.
High class productions have paper or cardboard plates which they tear up when finished using a particular car. This is to prevent a plate number from showing up on more than one car.
Really low budget productions have only one plate which they move from car to car. Ummm... not a good sign!

It's a theatrical presentation, not a simulacrum of real life. It's reasonable to expect artifice, especially in matters not central to the plot.
