You can see why it went straight to DVD...

This is not a bad movie-very good for a straight to DVD movie with good actors but the stories did not add up.

Why were the killings going on? What about the black killing from 40 years ago-why was that added in?

It needed a tighter story with more character development.

Still not bad...

6 out of 10.

I agree with your comments. Re: your questions, SPOILERS

the ex cop Murphy Doucet character was a serial killer who killed the girls and killed the fat cop because he figured out a connection between him and one of the girls (he'd arrested her right before she became a hooker). He also tried to kill TLJ but killed the actor's girlfriend instead because she had his coat on. The black guy killing was a subplot which I presume was carried from the book but it didn't belong in the movie. It made little sense in the movie...for one thing TLJ says he was a kid when he saw Murphy and the NEd Beatty character kill the guy....he looks OLDER than Murphy who must have been a toddler at the time if TLJ was a kid. Nor did the visions of Gen. Hood work well in the movie as it makes no sense that the actor and TLJ saw the same visions with zero explanation.

I was totally surprised to find a TLJ movie that had gone straight to DVD. That said, I can kinda see why. It was a bit hard to follow but I'm sure those who've read the books will enjoy this.

For schmithecat, all I can offer is that the character, Robicheaux, has been a lifelong alcoholic and lived a HARD life! Maybe, he'd look a good bit weathered. (Alec Baldwin protrayed him in an earlier movie.) Also, supposedly, LSD can hang around for awhile and cause one to trip further.

I gotta say it was a much better movie that a lot of the recent ones. Hmm, maybe Hollywood ought to take a look at their 'hot' leading men......I picked this one up with out having any previous knowledge and watched it to the end - can't say that about many other 'hot' projects.

Yes it was a little hard to follow what was going on.

It was indeed a confusing movie but for me its saving grace was TLJ and Louisiana. Having spent 6 months as an exchange student in Baton Rouge, LA I was delighted to revisit that Louisiana feeling in this movie. And they even mentioned LSU! Geaux Tigers!

Otherwise, a mediocre movie with some good moments.

I have seen worse films than this released in the cinema.

It was confusing maybe because it was supposed to be surreal but it had good acting.

Its that man again!!
