This movie had quite a few 'what the *beep* moments...

I liked this movie, but there were a few things I wonder what the heck was going on. When I think about it, I don't even know what the movie was about. Pretty weird, actually.

Made perfect sense to me and I am not good at following plot.

He made the connection between the body found with chains and what he had seen at age 17.

The only WTF for me was that an FBI agent would just stand by while TLJ character did various things towards the end of the movie.

As for seeing Hood, well, he was under stress and powerful emotions and had been given LSD.

Those were precisely the only "wtf" moments for me as well. The rest was quite easy to follow.

I think she was supposed to be a rookie, but yeah they got carried away with his bad behavior. I also don't like this trope in cop shows and movies, as when real life law enforcement gets caught doing shady stuff people might think "well you gotta bend the rules sometimes to get those bad guys" or some crap they think carries over from entertainment to real life.

What I don't get is, how did Dave see this at age 17, but never know who he saw? Yet all these years later he saw them clearly enough to know it was Lemoyne and Doucet?

It was easy to follow, just not interesting. I heard about this movie and finally got around to watching and within ten minutes I was wishing I had watched something else. I didn't buy the Hollywood actors, i didn't buy the murder mystery, I didn't but TLJ as a recovering alcoholic police officer and a lot of the supporting actors just seemed to be repeating remembered lines. I'm a fan of Buddy and Levon, but they're no great actors

It was actually very good.
