Also, in the movie, there is the guy who played the gas station clerk in "No Country For Old Men" playing a gas station clerk again in this movie, dressed similarly !

I'm pretty sure the poster for Anatomy of a Murder (1959) was he first to use the style. I also believe many other movies have ripped off or paid homage to it as well.

Edit: okay, I'm not entirely right; it is Saul Bass' signature style first used on the poster for The Man With the Golden Arm (1955). He later used the style again for Anatomy and others.
