A Good Sci-Fi

This is one of those films that proves you don't need a big budget to make a good film!
If you're a sci-fi fan (In the Philip K Dick sense) you will appreciate this film
If you're a sci-fi fan (Who only likes big budget stuff with explosions) you'll think its crap.

Is it a rip off of the matrix? Only as far as terminator is a rip off of second variety!

There are similarities. This film explores similar issues about authority, the control of society and the perception of freedom.

whether its 'dark city', 'the matrix', 'they live' or 'nightmare city 2035' these films that question our society and our perceived reality are becoming a sub genre of sci-fi in their own right.

The best sci-fi has always been about us. Its not the gadgets or lasers or spaceships. Its the way the sci-fi enables us to explore fundamental issues about our society, ourselves, and our own minds.
