There are now actually four Doctor Strange movies

Trivia: There are actually already four Doctor Strange movies in existence.

1. Doctor Strange (1978). Not very good and very low budget.

2. Doctor Mordrid. (1992). This was originally meant to be an adaptation of Doctor Strange but the rights ran out. Rather than scrap the film they changed some character names and added some original characters only "loosely" based on some characters from the comics.

3. Doctor Strange: Sorcerer Supreme (Sometimes shortened to just "Doctor Strange") this is an animated movie from 2007. Though direct to video this is actually a very good and very high quality animated film telling the origin of the character with some excellent and sympathetic detail.

4. The Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Doctor Strange.

Bonus mentions: 5. The Raven (1963). The film The Raven starring Vincent Price may have influenced the creation of Marvel's Doctor Strange. The film came out months before the first Doctor Strange comic and featured Vincent Price (whom Doctor Strange was designed to resemble) as Dr. Craven. A doctor who happens to be a powerful sorcerer gifted in "hand manipulations." The plot dealt with him and his rivalry with an evil sorcerer portrayed by Boris Karloff. Note: If you mean to check this one out look carefully at which film you are selecting. There are at least three movies called The Raven. you want the 1963 color film starring Vincent Price and Boris Karloff.

6. He also appeared in the recent direct to video streaming Halloween special Hulk: Where Monsters Dwell.
