Beautiful Film

I just saw this on an Air Canada flight and have to say I was extremely impressed with the cast, story, and presentation of the material. Congrats all around to another truly wonderful Canadian film!

I just saw it last night, and it has now joined my list of "favorite moves EVER". I love it.

I thought so too.

I was going through a movie watching drought (couldn't find anything I liked) and took a chance with this one. What a pleasant surprise!

I saw this at a queer film festival and I was pleasantly surprised too. There were many cliches/stereotypes but I thought they were handled well so it didn't bother me. I have one question: what exactly does Billy say when he makes that comment about how bad it would be if he got AIDS? I'd like to know the direct quote because I thought it was well written and it caught me by surprise. I actually scoffed when I heard it. Anyway, it's a nice movie.

I have the DVD so I just replayed the scene in question:
When Sam accuses Billy of abandoning Scot and his mother rather than getting her help for the drug problem, Billy replies; "You know...look, I wasn't gonna get involved Sammy, all I could think about was, like, wouldn't that be weird...me being the one in the family to get the AIDS"
The line caught me by surprise as well, and really underscored Billy's ignorance and lack of responsibility.

Thanks for that! I liked the lead up to it. It was natural and surprising. I don't like what he implies about homosexuality but, like you said, it does reveal part of Billy's character quite well.

Thanks again. Take care :-)

I agree with the OP, this movie was hilarious and Scot was a riot. I laughed so many times watching this. :)
