Frequently Asked Questions About Paralell Universes (?)

Dude, where's my sequel? How come we have endless sequels -and prequels- to really stupid movies but when we talk about something brilliant like this, then there is nothing!!!

reply

I know, where the hell is Hot Tub Time Machine 2 as well? I wish they would make sequel to that in 2012 and maybe they'll set it at a beach resort during 1988. I hope we get a Paul 2 in 2013 and a Harold and Kumar 4 in 2014 as well. Why not even a Hangover Part 3 that is different than the first 2 films. I'm sick of it always being Tinkerbell 7, Saw 8, The Land Before Time XIII, Shrek 16, Kong Fu Panda 6, Beverly Hill Chihuahua 20, and so on!

reply

Given that there's no sequel -and apparently not a lot of chances of ever getting one- does anybody know of any similar movies?

reply

Summer Time Machine Blues

reply

Thks. I'll see if I can find it.

I'm from the future and Hot Tub Time Machine 2 and Hangover Part 3 are both out now!

Seeing as how the movie went on after the credits finished (you did watch it right through to the end of the credits, right?)-- I'd say the makers of the movie knew just about when to quit....

Not that it didn't have the potential to be a 5-part trilogy like the Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy series-- but it would be mainly going over familiar territory with a few new ideas added here and there, again like the H2G2 series.

And even Douglas Adams acknowledged the demand for endless sequels to the H2G2 series, which he tried to "kill off" at the end of every part, was due to there being nothing like the satirical sci-fi (serious enough to be satirical, farcical enough to funny) he wrote at the time H2G2 came out.

Of course, as can be seen from the relatively unfunny adaption of H2G2 into A Hollywood movie, this is something that takes talent to execute properly-- even when the formula is extremely well worn. But FAQATT doesn't really have a new/big idea of its own to keep it going as some kind of drama/series...

I mean, I'm quite sure the writers never really thought through the mechanics/consequences of the time editors, etc.... certainly not to the extent Douglas Adams thought through the gimmicks of the improbability drives,etc..

If you care enough to go around telling people you don't care... you obviously care.

What do you do, just copypaste your own replies to multiple threads as supposedly unique posts?

"Not that it didn't have the potential to be a 5-part trilogy "

There is no such thing as a "5-part trilogy", because the very word "trilogy" points to EXACTLY THREE PARTS.

The word you are looking for is "pentalogy".

Hang on, didn't we just do this?

12 years on and seen this film numerous times and agree this needs a sequel, bigger budget and adapted story and think would be the equivalent of what Shaun of the dead did to the Zombie/comedy genre
