Season Two Stacey

Did anyone else find Stacey in season 2 a little annoying?

She spends most of it complaining and whining about the way that everything is playing out in her life. Did she not even think about how things would be after she married Gavin?

They move in with Gavin's parents and while Pam isn't the easiest person to get along with she's completely rude to them. I get that she was bored since she couldn't find a job but she never tries to fully interact with anyone from Essex apart from Gavin.

Then she moved back to Barry and starts missing Gavin and four weeks , they spend some time patching things up. Gavin even getting together ideas for flats and that only for her to say that she doesn't think their marriage can work.

Gavin offers to move down to Barry and do everything that she wants to make things work and she basically tells him that their marriage isn't worth.

I love the show but how Stacey acted really annoyed me in this series.

I'm working my way through season two and I think I'll end up agreeing with your assessment. She does seem oversensitive and whiney. Can't stand it when she says something is "lush." I get that the term is slang, but it sounds so odd to me in that context.

I love Bryn though. And Nessa. They make the show in my book!

They're my favourite characters as well.

Oh . . oh . . oh ... merry Christmas.

Classic Nessa!

Her and Smithy made this show... I don't think it would have been any good without them in it.

No surprise as they created and wrote the show

Just started watching on Hulu and are into season 2. Watching the getting back together episode and Stacey is the most annoying, immature, lazy character. What on earth does she think life was going to be like?

I dunno I kinda get where she was coming from. Being jobless when you've always worked sends you a bit nuts especially when you have to spend the day with your mother in law.

Plus Gavin was an arse at times. He never thought that Stacey might be lonely or missing home, and when they were meant to be visiting Wales for her mums birthdays he changed the plans to shot him and his parent (leaving later and coming home earlier) despite knowing how much Stacey wanted to see her family. He also wouldn't budge on renting even if it meant getting out his parents place.

I know she should have thought about it before she moved but hindsight is a wonderful thing and when she got no support its no wonder she felt lonely. Gavin and his family should have been more sensitive to her feelings as they weren't the ones having to move their life. Gavin expected her to fit in (and move in) with his family but wasn't willing to consider her family in anything.

I thought the final episode sort-of-break-up was too out of character and out of place and I guess the writers stuck it in there to keep viewers in suspense for the finale.
