Twistex needs a topper

Twistex needs to get a cover for that new radar. I can understand why he's timid about getting close with it, but to succeed he will have to. Should have thought about the hail when he got the thing. Surely something can be attached for a cover.

The problem with that being the height of the topper to accomodate the radome elevated to operating position creates so much sail area on the sides of the vehicle that they'd have to stay even farther away from the action. They need a separate venicle for probe deployment.

600,000 dollar radar system... I'm sure team Twistex can secure another truck that can be used for deploying the probe. I hope so too because I'm tired of Tim pulling out of the chase.

FYI, team Twistex has multiple vehicles with them, but they need another truck, just like their main truck, but can deploy the probe.

I agree, what use is the best equippment to them if they can't get near the big tornados and can't deploy it because it is too dangerous to go outside.

I guess I didn't understand their whole approach. They used to have these small turtle probes that they could deploy in a heartbeat. In fact I thought he was famous for them. Now they have this mind-numbingly expensive radar and a giant, heavy probe that they'd be lucky to get out and down in 2 minutes.

While we're on the subject, what happened with Reed's bi-directional radar? (The one that Josh was making veiled threats to somehow have him banned for life from ever looking at weather again if he didn't tell him the frequencies). This season they had their little pneumatic tube parachute probes and, later, some other radar they mounted under a clear dome, but no mention of this revolutionary pivoting radar from before.

The change in direction every season leaves me feeling very confused. They really don't provide adequate continuity from year to year in the narration, it seems. If they could explain why they're ditching their proven techniques and technologies for something new, that would help me understand what they're trying to actually do that they couldn't do before.
