It pisses me off how these storm chasers wear sandals

They don't all do this from what I could see but Reed has definitely done this on several episodes. I know it's a small issue but it's just so mind blowing to me that you would go out & put yourself in mother nature's way while wearing some floppy *beep* sandals. Wear them all you want with appropriate weather but not when you're job is to intercept a friggin tornado! Go grab some boots or atleast some *beep* sneakers guy! You need complete mobility while on the clock yet you're wearing something for comfort....I just......ok I'm done.

I feel the same way, don't worry. It's the same thing when it looks like its going to rain, minus a tornado, and then I'm one of the few people with a rain jacket or umbrella. Rain is rain, but if it looks like its going to rain, why don't you plain for the day and bring something with you so you don't get super soaked.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. I would be wearing flip flops too when they spend probably 12 hours out of the day driving, and probably only 1-2 hours of actual chasing. Besides they don't really get out of the vehicle that much in the Dominator as they intercept the tornado while inside the vehicle. However I do agree they should probably have some shoes on deck and ready to go in case they need to help with emergency relief efforts. Running through mud and over live wires with flip flops is not a great idea.

If I was chasing tornadoes by myself I would make sure to keep proper foot wear (and other necessities) in the trunk, just in case the car breaks down or gets stuck. People seem to forget that when you film a documentary it's a whole different beast. Each team has at least 3 extra cars filled with equipment and the camera crew itself. The point is that Reed and the guys in his car are not alone and they most likely DO have emergency equipment with them even though it's not shown to us.
(Wow, this was a late reply)
