Two questions from a newbie to Wallander....

Have only watched the first episode of Mankell's Wallander, season 2. Season 1 doesn't seem to be available. Forgive me if I am repeating questions that have already been asked, but I don't want to read other threads because I may get spoilers.

1. Do the episodes of the two different Wallander series have the same plots? Just wonder if it's worth it to watch the Branagh version if I finish the Mankell version.

2. Does the Swedish Wallander series have a continuing storyline or is each episode self-contained?

Thanks in advance.

I haven't seen the British version but in terms of continuity of the plot each episode more or less stands on it's own.

There are some subplots which play out over the course of the whole series, without giving too much away, In season 1 the relationship between Linda and Steffan and in season 2 the relationship between Kurt and Katarina are ongoing but very little else.

Thanks for the info. I can't find Season 1 of the Mankell version anywhere, if anyone knows where it is. Netflix only starts with season 2.
