LOVED this Episode!

Been a fan of Beck since the first movie..I LOVE Gunvald and Martin..And also the rest of the crew is GREAT! I feel very sadden by the fact that it is over..and i will miss this series very much..It is one of the best Police-show that ever was..So thank you to them all for making it so FAB! Loved this episode by the way, its my favorite and it freaked me out...Goodie!

The series lasted for so long. I also was a bit bummed when it ended. There are many threads that could be featured in more films, I guess. Like, the whole Gunvald's family/son thing (and where's his sister&niece gone?) and Martin's "would like to be girlfriend but I'm colleague" thread too. Just to name a few ideas. And I'm sure many other credible police cases to investigate can be found too.
BUT as with every series that ends, I understand actors may want to do something else as well. So... after making 26 films, I think we have enough material to re-watch LOL Many thanks to all cast & crew! :D

I have just started to watch this series... after finishing all I can find of Wallender and the Broe, but I want to know what happened to Lena? I thought her and Beck were together, and I really liked her... She just seemed to have disappeared between season 1 and season 2 but then reappears later?

Season 5 is underway...

The Episode Hämndens pris was amazing and spoke a lot about the Swedish society. It deals with the question of what kind of crime a police murder is. According to the series it is one of the worst crimes hit against the wellfare society. This episode also shows the Swedish countryside as its best, nature in the springtime.

why do people mistakenly say this is a series? These are films, not a tv-series. IMDB has it wrong, as do you.

reply

No you are wrong!
IMDB are right and the Swedish film distribution companies are wrong.
This i a 90 min run of the mill procedural with one dimensional characters and zero suspense. It's as boring than CSI but it sucks more because each episode is longer.

Sorry you didn't like it. I've been a fan for almost twenty years. Beck was the first foreign-language [I'm from the US] series I ever saw, and few have equaled, let alone surpassed, it.

Haber and Persbrandt are wonderful as the main characters, and the supporting actors over the years have done fine jobs also. The stories are intriguing, relying less on action sequences than most US cop shows, the characters are real, the production is better than one might expect.

I've seen them all, except for the current season, and I can't wait til these new ones are available in the States.

Hey I agree with you. Good series...almost all of them. I watched many years ago....not,20 but ?10? Just now rewatchimg...and looking forward to a few new recent episodes here in 2016. Some don't like...oh well...each his own.
Fun to see S2 Ep 8 with bit part of the witness prostitute Sofia Helin...star of Bron...the Bridge. Neat.

Its not a series. While its a series of films, "Beck" is not a tv-show as listed here.

Not challenging you, just asking - why is it not a series? Wasn't it made for television? Also, there are several each year. So in what way is it different from other 90 minute shows? Is it because each is a stand alone rather than a continuing storyline? Thanks.

reply

Pretty sure some of them were shown in the cinemas even. It may be though, that they are just made for tv movies, but they surely are not a tv-show.

Beck is aired on TV on "C More-channel" first here in Sweden and not in any cinema
and here on IMDb it's named TV Series (1997–

I watched the first show of 2016 "Gunvald" some days ago, and that will make a huge difference in all other shows.

I am amazed over that people outside Sweden actually like Beck, for me it's only a standard police-show

Beck and some other shows (Wallander, The Bridge/Bron) are very often a joint production with Germany and other Scandinavian countries

Mad(e)in Sweden 🇸🇪
