Movie 'Once'

Happy Ending.

So, the Boy bought the Girl her piano and she stayed @ home with her abusive husband to raise the baby...and he went back to his gf, who cheated on him. This made everyone unhappy. Eventually when the child grew up older, the Girl secretly sent off her mother with the child somewhere safe to relatives or neighbours (like those friendly guys who liked to watch TV in her flat).

Then she found the Boy (who hopefully broke up with his cheating gf...or close to breaking up with her. She thanked him for the piano, told him she felt sad they left each other. So, he broke up with his cheating gf, married that girl, took that mother with them too. Then they started their own music group, based on their connections of musicians and travelled around the world, making great music-making people happy & inspiring other musicians with their story.

What makes you think that Girl's husband was abusive? I'm pretty sure the only words she used to describe him were "distant" and "stupid". Anyway, I'm more than happy with the movie ending the way it did. It was bittersweet, knowing that while these two may never see each other, the impact that they had on each other's lives was profound and that they'll never forget each other. A Hollywood happy ending would have felt cheap to me.
