Great Film minus the cinematography...thou ghts?

I really enjoyed this film. I love that it takes away from the original or mainstream style of a romance movie. The acting and singing is phenomenal. The story line is amazing, so unique and original. However, I did not care for the cinematography. I know the film was low budget and all that, but they could have done a variety of different editing techniques or simple shooting techniques. For example, the shots were full of very long takes throughout the film. There was numerous times where I wanted to see a close up on facial emotions but I couldn't feel the character at that very moment; this film definitely has those "moving/emotional" moments. All in all, I give the story, acting, and singing the most love; it brought the film its style and originality.

It would have been possible to do multiple set-ups for some of the key scenes - but I think the "magic" of the film could have been lost. Marketa had no experience as an actor - so most of her "performance" is spontaneous and completely natural - there is no way she could possibly recreate it time after time. I think this is the main reason that much of the material in the film was done in one take.
