7/5 Recap /****Spoilers welcome****/

A lot of time spent by Cameron doing the "previously on" segment.

A lot of time spent showing the growing power of the Triad (Azymuth, Jay and Ben) with them discussing their end game strategies and the other 9 discussing ways to dethrone the officers.

Challenge. No surprise. JoeDon and Louie were told to grab two shots out of a bag, and Cameron said they'd be red shots up front. The 7 women drew shots and 3 went to black team and 4 to red. It was a very physical challenge. The treasure was hidden by the Bos'n. Instead of rowing to shore the teams had to jump of the ship. Don't know if this was planned ahead of time or if it was changed knowing that one team having three men would be at an advantage. I think the red team was JoeDon, Louie, Nessa, Jupiter for sure, then the bad swimmer (Kendra?? can't rembmer all their names). The black team had the strong blond and Joy. Red team got to shore a little ahead of black team, but black team passed them shortly. First clue on shore required them to find a heavy wooden rope ladder that they had to lug around. The next clue required them to find a boat, beached up in the hills, with the next clue written on the underside of the bench seat. Black team got there first, followed shortly by red team. Third location was further up the hill and they had to find the proper tree which with the ladder they were carrying they could climb and then untie a key from a rope knot. Black team got their first and red shortly after. Azymuth went up the ladder for black and slowly undid the key. Louie for some reason climbed for red and had problems finding the key, which was in plane view. This gave the black team a slight edge that the red team could never overcome. The black team found the hidden treasure box (wasn't buried for a change)and won the challenge.

Back at the ship, usual discussions over who should get the black spot. JoeDon, Joy and the other bad swimmer on the red team got the three spots. At Pirate court Cameron revealed that there were three bids for the pardon, $500, $700 and $12,000. JoeDon paid $12,000 to Nessa for the pardon. As it turned out he didn't need it, as the vote total was 3 votes Joy and 2 for Kendra??

Previews for next week make it appear that Azymuth puts JD and Louie to work to keep them physically tired before the challenges.

They showed Jay talking to Laural? (the one who was on the spot last week) trying to convince her to get rid of Joy.

Most of the show was the challenge, which this time was interspersed with I thought a lot more "confessional" footage as they progressed thru the challenge. It was a good challenge, pretty physical. And from how wet and cold they looked when the got back to the ship, it appeared that they made them swim back too, unless that was for show.

Unless the black team gets defeated or they inject a change to the game, it seems like it will play out by the book.
