Never a mutiny

I just started watching this show online (cbs innertube) and I have watched the first four episodes so far, plan to watch the other two tonight. Anyway, is there EVER a mutiny? Every week they talk about it and the looks back and forth during the voting appear that it's going to happen but then the host says "THERE ARE NO MUTINY VOTES FOR YOU" so what's with all the looks back and forth then during the vote?

I hate it when they spend so much time dialoguing on a plot or twist and then when all is said and done, NOTHING was done. It's such a waste of time.

When that big ex-pro footballer said that as captain he'd give money to EVERYONE and would be a good captain (episode 2) and then people looked like they liked that idea and then the captain didn't say much because he thought he's been a good captain but then everyone else dodges their eyes around as if he hasn't been a good captiain.

It's like WTH???? That is NOT entertaining. Stop doing that to us. ANd has this show been cancelled or not?? Any confirmation on that?

Mutinies will come later in the game when their are less people.

Don't argue with me. You're just going to lose.

The rules, as we know them, are so onerous that a mutiny is extremely unlikely. For one thing, both officers have to agree to mutiny. That's a huge hurdle to overcome, since the officers are in a great position. They get a bigger share of the loot, they get to stay on the stronger team, and they don't really face the wrath of the crew. It would have to be an extremely dire situation for them to agree to a mutiny.

Maybe later in the game the rules will change to make mutiny easier.

Well, that's reality TV for you. 75% of the time, nothing too exciting happens in an episode of reality TV. The editors have to create a story and sometimes that means a lot of "will he or won't he?"

They should change it so the officers dont have a choice if a mutiny happens. This would make the show a bit more interesting. Before the challenge starts we already know who wins. The crews, and the voting system is broken. This show tries to condense so much information into a small time frame loaded with too many commercials.

Nope. The officers have to say yes to a mutiny too. Its the votes cast, and the officers.

How many threads will you continue to mistate this? Cameron clearly stated on the first episode that both officers must concur. Nessa, in her confessional talk last night also said that in order to successfully mutiny they must get the officers to agree. In next weeks preview Jay talks about mutinying. If it only took the voting pirate court to invoke mutiny, it would probably happen every week once the court got down to 5 or six voters. Which is why I'm sure they made it a requirement that officers must concur. They should have made it just one officer instead of both then the likelihood of mutiny would be greater.

Yes, if that were the case, imagine the fun when there were exactly seven players. There are three officers, three nominated players, and one crew member to vote.

"Hmm. Yes. I think I'll cast my one vote for 'Mutiny!' Muhahaha!"

You are reading it incorrectly.

Yes it is true that only the Pirate Court "votes" for mutiny, and that it has to be unanimous. So if there is a unanimous pirate court vote for mutiny is the captain automatically cast adrift? NO! His officers still must concur with the Pirate Court's mutiny to be succesful. (as described by Cameron and validated by Nessa last night during one of her confesstionals). If this wasn't true why wouldn't they have mutinied against Joe Don. He never paid anyone off, infact he pissed them off by giving them a pitance of his share, which was viewed more as an insult than a gift.

cause he knows there's a chance the voting crew will band together.

You claim that he is giving money to the voting crew, but I've yet to see him give any money to a red team member, and they make up voting crew as well.

Azymth's not being worried about mutiny has nothing to do with the happiness of the voting Pirate court, but the happiness of his officers.

By assuming that since it says "the pirate court vote must be unanimous for a mutiny" that there are no other rules for mutiny. Your link outlining the rules contradicts your statement. Look under "pirate court" and you will see that your source says that in Episode #1 that Cameron tells JD that the officers must be in agreement. The rule is not mentioned in Ep. #2, but that should not be interpreted to mean it doesn't exist. Survivor, Amazing Race, most reality shows don't continually repeat the rules over and over. And in this case if there was no threat of mutiny, it would make no sense to repeat the rules just for the sake of repeating them.

Granted, I wish that things were more clear with this show, but pretty much everyone seems to agree that the officers have to be on board with the mutiny.

The contestants haven't opted for mutiny because the officers wouldn't have gone with it. Last week, everyone had mutiny on their minds but they knew the officers wouldn't budge because the Triad as Azmyth calls it are all good friends. Jay and Ben wouldn't mutiny against Azmtyh at that point in time. BUT thanks to the previews at the end of this week's episode, Jay said he is in the mood for a mutiny. So next week, let's keep our hopes up for a mutiny. Azmyth needs to go.

I just wish when the Captain was mutinied upon, he/she wouldn't be simply "set adrift". The Captain should be forced to walk the plank (since the plank is the most common bit of pirate lore there is). It would have made the show just a little more interesting seeing as they need to shake things up somehow.
