Ghosts - is some one coming back

The title for next weeks episode is "Spirits in the Material World" and Cameron quipped in next weeks previews that the pirates would meet a ghost from their past.

Do you think they'd actually bring back a cast-off pirate? That would seem pretty lame, basically a rehash of what Survivor already did in Pearl Islands. I could maybe see that the teams might have to compete against a team of cast offs, but I can't see them actually bringing a player back, despite the teaser to the contrary.

Cameron used the plural; “the ghosts from their past”. I assume that means several who have been cut adrift. While they may compete, the other possibility is that they somehow become part of the jury. This would avoid the future problem of a single crew member choosing which of three gets thrown off.

Maybe the show will finally add a twist that is worthwhile.

As a general rule I'm not a big fan of the "outcast" scenario. When Survivor did it in Pearl Islands, I hated it. My feeling is that as a contestant you are led to believe that when someone is voted out or cast adrift they are out of the game, so the manner in which you get rid of them doesn't change your overall strategy. But, if they bring back a white team to vote on who should be Pirate Master, I wouldn't like that. Also I don't know if I'd like to see them as part of a Pirate Court as they would be highly prejudiced against the officers that cast them off.

If they competed against the black/red teams for treasure, I wouldn't mind that so much and there are varying twists that they could add. One example. The three teams compete, and if the white team wins, then maybe there is no captain, or the remaining teams have to combine to choose a new captain that can't be any of the three preexisting officers.

Hopefully no one from the white team would be eligible to be Pirate Master, that would be pretty lame.
