Where exactly was this film situated?

Small spoilers, no plot items.

I see that this movie says it was filmed in Halifax, Nova Scotia but in the first few minutes I see a bus that says Perry Rand Transport. The bus also said Cambridge, Nova Scotia on the side. You would only be able to read what it said if you recognized the bus company and had a good idea of what it said in the first place.

The plate on his truck was also a Nova Scotia plate. There is also a scene showing the care taker tending apple trees, which leads me to assume it was situated somewhere in the Annapolis valley of Nova Scotia. The Bus sign that says Cambridge would lead me to the Annopolis Valley as well.

They also mention a drive in theater in the movie. Assuming this is Nova Scotia because of the plates I would have to conclude this is indeed the Annopolis Valley because there is only 1 drive in theater left in Nova Scotia and it is about five minutes away from Perry Rand Transport.

The accents are off for anywhere in Nova Scotia by about 2000-3000km (Sounds more like Fargo). The most accurate depiction seems to be in the female character Roberta Knickel. The family names also seem to be a very good representation of the lower half of Nova Scotia, Zinck, Knickel, Naugler, Snarr. The spellings of the names are off but when they say the names I know what they are getting at which are very representative of the German ancestry of the area.

The people seem to be caricatures of people you would find in the lower to middle part of Nova Scotia. Very dramatized, but this is a movie. Henry Sanipass can also easily be accounted for in my Annapolis valley theory. There is a Native reservation about 5 minutes away from both the mentioned drive-in theater and busing company. The architecture of Oliver Zinck's step mother's home is also very unique to the region and that style can be found about 15min away from the theater, busing company, and reservation.

Going by the clues I can only logically assume Annopolis valley, Nova Scotia specifically between the towns of Wolfville and Berwick(the lakes threw it off a bit though, but if you go 20min south from that area you would find lakes like this) but where did the director intend this movie to be situated does anybody know?

Minor movie detail, may be considered a spoiler. No plot given away.

Ok, so I was writing the last post while watching the movie. I have come to a new part and I noticed the police cars says Hants county on. This would be about 15min drive from the area I first suspected but still part of the annopolis valley. That would account for the lakes. It doesn't fall between Berwick and Wolfvile but 5min on the other side of Wolfville would account for everything I have seen to my current point of the movie.

His coffee cup also has the area of Hants county centered positioned in a map of Nova Scotia. The only thing is I am pretty sure Hants county is patrolled by the RCMP and not the police.

For a good map of the area with county and town names go here (ignore the giant red arrow):

Ok so I just finished the movie and I see the town of Windsor is in the special thanks section. That works for me and where I thought it after my second post.
It's pretty neat to watch a movie that was filmed 15min away from where you live.

found the website to the place that was used as the funeral home use in the movie:

How about the actual movie itself as a MOVIE?
Did you watch any of it from THAT perspective?

Correction. There may be only one drive in theatre left in mainland Nova Scotia, however, Cape Breton also has a drive in theatre, and so there are two left in Nova Scotia, not one. irrelevant to your argument, but just a little bit of trivia for you :P.
