National Lampoon...?

Hi, just a quick question...
Does anyone know how a movie gets 'national lampoon' status? Like, why do they put national lampoon in front of the the title? any ideas? is it the production company? probably not.

PS If i do see this, i'll only be watching for paul campbell (yikes! in a good way.)

Yes, National Lampoon actually produced this one. They have been attaching their name in some way, and for some reason, to earlier movies, but this is one they actually had a hand in.

They licensd the rights to use it's name for a fee.

pauls ok but i'll be watching purely for rob hoffman :D

Looks pretty funny but I'm thinking this will be heading to DVD quickly. And I totally agree about only watching for Robert James Hoffman III-soooo hot-even if he is rocking the Karate Kid "Johnny" hairdo in this movie.

I believe it all started at harvard university and a magazine called lampoon that students started to put out and then it snowballed from there.

How would you rate this movie out of ten? Is this garbage? I haven't seen it yet

reply

There are a lot of movies that come out with the title National Lampoon on it because it is a part of a franchise to be honest with you.

thanks for the insights! i figured it was something to do with licensing and I was told there was a magazine involved, much like Mad Magazine. it's just interesting that it's mostly used for college based movies when clearly the vacation films were the best next to animal house. they should really do another run at "national lampoon's vacation".

You are welcome and it is not a problem at all. Yes I believe there is a magazine involved but I am not really for sure on that to be honest with you. Yes they are used for college based movies it seems like. I loved the National Lampoon's Vacation movies. They should do another one and I agree with you on that.

Possibly about Rusty or Audry going to college in another state to make it interesting or maybe one of the kids getting married. I think that would be totally cool to see in my opinion on that.
