Homophobic part

It's interesting that this movie contradicts black stereotypes by having all cast members be successful, middle to upper-class, law-abiding citizens who are educated. And while that's all good and fun, how the hell do you explain that scene on the train where those stereotypical gay guys are behind that alkie woman who's seeing red? A chiuaua? Really?! As soon as one minority makes it they always knock another down.

because that's how it's like in the black community. They want to self congratulate themselves by being "successful", and "progressive". But in reality they are the next in line Republicans.

reply

Funny how you resorted to being racists while trying to defend the gay community. Black people do not have to support gay marriage, all people must love each other but why must gays demand more from the black race than any other race. Blacks like all races have the freedom to think for themselves and have views and beliefs.

I thought that part was funny when a drunken Angela yelled at the annoying gay couple on the train. It was very brief, and I didn't perceive that as homophobic at all. Tyler Perry dresses in drag for that "Madea" role. So I scent a gay vibe in Tyler Perry.

reply

Just because someone dresses in drag, that doesn't mean they are gay-positive. Eddie Murphy and Milton Berle both have done drag in their careers and both are known homophobes.

That didn't come off as "homophobia" just put in place to be humurous with the fact that he seemed extra uppity and he was concerned about his dog "FIFI" trying to sleep.

First of all, blacks and gays are not one in the same. I get tired of people comparing race with sexual orientation. Nobody compares gays to whites or asians or hispanics. Why must blacks be accepting of gay marriage just because they are black? Isn't that racism in and of itself?

Black people are supposed to realize more than most other groups that being discriminated against sucks.

Yes, perkb420 - You hit the nail right on the head.

As a minority myself (gay) I cannot understand how another minority group wouldn't have a bit more empathy and understanding.
