another movie with a great story and great acting and a lot of heart underrated because its a black movie.

ya right coming from a white guy everybody knows that imdb has a problem with black movies compare these two just go with it and lottery ticket what else can i say there are many others that are just as underrated because there black movies.

They aren't underrated, they just suck. They are crappy movies.

I totally agree; this movie is a guilty pleasure for me, and NOT because it presents an all-black cast.

Why Did I Get Married was good but it wasn't great and definately not underrated.

I'm white, love this movie. Yes I can see they are black actors but I don't care, I like the movie just like if it were white actors, hispanic, mixed race. I just like the movie and think it is really good. One of my faves in the last 10 years

I don't think it's because it's a black cast. I think it's because it's a Tyler Perry movie and most of his movies just aren't great. Having said that, I really enjoyed this and the sequel.

I 100% agree. I could not believe the 5.6 IMDB rating.

The awkward marriage situations made me squirm real bad, just like it should.
If it was a bad movie then it just would have come off as ridiculous. Instead, I genuinely felt bad for many of their situations. Now of course, it is unlikely that a random collection of couples would all be in such extreme dire straights and still be married but hey, it's a movie. It's plausible by movie standards.
