I can't see for the life of me see how anyone found this movie entertaining. Todd Brownings Freaks was by no means a spectacular movie, but it had one crucial difference, we sympathised with the characters. This tight knit group of individuals opened their close knit group and welcomed the newcomer in and were betrayed. Unlike freaksohw the end of freaks did not need a 10 minute torture scene to arrive at the same result, a horrendously mutilated person. Again in freaks, probably because we did not witness the mutilation, we empathised more with the "freaks" than the girl.

Freakshow created no such empathy for its "freaks" and the mutilation scenes just made me think that the director has some serious issues he needs sorted.

Freaks was a bad movie, but it was somehow absorbing, and had a quaint charm about it. Freakshow is just bad, actually to say bad is probably a bit of a compliment so I'll just leave it at that.

Look beyond the blood and torture, and see the soul behind those cripple, deformed bodies.

so the point is: the villians are just as "freakish" as the vicims, and the victims are just as "villianous" as the bad guys.

This line says it all. Good point!

True but a movie is supposed to entertain you not bore the living crap out of you. It sucked if the director really wanted you to understand and have compassion for the "Freaks" well than he should have done a better job of portraying that.

Also I watched another movie by this same production company. The Asylum is a horrible production company. All of there movies suck ass!

I'd love to know how you come to this conclusion, as I liked Todd Brownings Freaks. It's actually quite an offensive remark to make about someone you know nothing about.

I would hardly call them discussion "tricks" but rather answering each point made individually. I also fail to see what totalitarianism has to do with my reply.

i can see why people would find this film horrible, but i thought that it was an okay movie up until the end. the torture scene seemed a bit excessive. i have seen some gory horror films in my time,but i found that a bit tasteless. i see the point of it, but i thought that they shouldn't need to show everything in detail. sometimes less is more. i found the story somewhat entertaining, but i can understand why some people didn't.not the worst movie ive seen this year, but not great.

I agree, even though my mother did not want me to see it, I was able to see it at my friends house and I thought the freaks were cool. Specially the man with no hands and the wolf boy and those guys hanging by the hooks. I like the canibal girl her name is amanda in real life.Yeah!

I’m not sure if movies are supposed to entertain... But this one was undeniably a piece of art. It brought discussion to the table. I was not entertained, but I was, like everyone else here, affected!

I love the original, but after reading these posts maybe I'll steer clear of this remake.

u crazy ! that's one of my favourites movies of all times, I watched it five times and all times enjoyed it, even better than original FREAKS
