But the opening of the original clearly states the year...1982.
And there are so many flaws...

I watched this back in 2011 on its initial release and thought it was completely and wholly unnecessary. It not only copies the ‘82 film, but it answers questions that take away much of the mystery of that version. (The latter ALIEN movies did that when they tried to answer the mystery of the ‘space jockey’.)
shareIt's a prequel. I recently watched this then the 82 version again, just to see how well the ending of this one would sync with the beginning of that one and it did so perfectly. The only thing that was a bit ambiguous was the fate of the female scientist. The viewer is left to conclude she froze to death.
shareThis was a disappointment for me. The cgi looked off and did a disservice to the 82's perfect and brooding effects
