They ought to, "Re-imagine," another chapter with Lars and MacReady hunting down The Thing around the world.
They clearly are the two coolest guys in this series.
With, of course, a hat tip to Kate. She has that Ripley vibe.
Thoughts?
I'd totally be down for seeing Mac, Childs and Kate some how being reunited, validating each other's story for some rescue party/investigatory agency. Then they have to adapt and navigate through another tragic spawning of the Thing - this time overwhelming a city or jungle environment (which I don't think anyone could survive that!)
Lars IS cool! But he and the other Norwegian die at the start of the 1982 version.

Oh, just because someone's dead doesn't mean that the character couldn't appear in a sequel. (Spoiler Alert) Remember Dr. Okun getting obviously murdered by the wounded alien in Independence Day? Well, he magically returned in the sequel.
So what if Lars was shot in his eye by Garry. He's a bad-ass tough guy Norwegian.
He's had worse.
It's just a flesh wound.
