What makes this film more chilling for me is the sexism aimed at her at the 18 Minute mark... everyone shrugged her opinions off since "Shes just a girl" ... It made me mad since I was like "why did you ask her to come along since she does know her job...."
I don't see what's to be upset about since sexism here is fictional. If it's fictional then we can assume that maybe the director decided that these men would be overtly sexist.
Would you want movies to serve some social/cultural purposes instead?
Did no one think her acting was poor and she came across lost in the 2nd half...I expected her to look at the director and say ,what do l do next'.!!! Yep that was no Ripley!.

I blame the script. I wonder if they had written the wrole for a man would have worked. Kinda like how Riply was initially going to be a man in Alien(1979)
Its what feminism is about these days. Just turning women into men.

It probably would done even better at the box office. It was a social experiment to see if men would pay to see a high budget SciFi flick with a woman as the lead. Turns out we would, but only if she was wearing a tight sleeveless tank top and was in her underwear at one time or another.

You troll. You know danm well this was supposed to be a Alien(1979) Ripley moment where she gets dismissed early on only to wind up being the sole survivor. It is what many of us felt the plot was going to be when it came out. Another proof plot of how strong women can despite being srugged off. reply share
