BECCAAAAAA! Ugghhh.

I absolutely hate the scenes with Becca. After the first season she becomes the biggest downer, and her parents always talk about what a wonderful kid she is. WOW.
She never compliments Hank without pivoting into a criticism of him. Even when she says "I love you Dad" you know she will follow up with a "but" and completely negate the love.

Totally agreed. One BIG remarkable thing about the show is how lame she is.

Yeah, especially her voice, so nasally sounding.
I think casting missed on this one. It was too over the top.

The plot had Hank always feeling guilty about not being a better dad, not satisfying his wife, etc. But the viewers were also supposed to be on Hank's side because he was not really a bad guy, and he didn't deserve the blame he got.

I think Becca was supposed to make Hank feel guilty because she was meant to be a good sweet kid who felt let down by her dad.
But Becca rarely ever said anything sweet or kind to Hank. She sounded like she was starting to sometimes and then turned it into a guilt trip or an attack on him.
So to me, that part of the show didn't work. How could Hank feel bad about Becca's whining? She was not a lovable child.
I have not watched the show in months now, and I still cringe when I recall her whiny tantrums, the passive aggressive guilt trips she laid on him, and her continual moping around.
I can't recall a time when she expressed happiness about something without adding some comment to ruin it.
I can imagine her having sex and afterward saying something like "Well, that felt nice, but I probably could have enjoyed it better if my parents weren't such awful role models".

The funniest part was in season 1 when she played in that band. LMAO! Her playing was bad, her singing was bad, and her performance was laughable. I've seen rejects like William Hung on American Idle with more talent.

Oh I completely agree! The singing and playing the band was woeful, whatever about the playing but the singing....ugh. I absolutely hate the actress that plays Becca, she's so monotone and such a bad actress. There is also no possible way on this earth that Karen and Hank could have a kid that looks and sounds like that. They are such beautiful looking people.
