I get that this film was meant to be a bit of a comedy at times, but why call the salon Gilles de Rais? Was that meant to be a joke or what? Why would you want to name a salon after a disgusting, murdering paedophile?
According to the article I read, the director named it as such on purpose. Why? It didn't say. But as long as it sounds like a foreign word, all is just fine by Japanese, I guess. (hahahahaha...)
Haha! So true. As a Japanese myself, I think most Japanese have no idea what or who Gilles de Rais is unless they are interested in horror/murderers things and that Gilles de Rais actually sounds cool. Of course the director chose that name on purpose because he knew some people would find it funny for a hair salon, I guess.
