This movie made Uwe Boll look cool

I saw this movie for one reason only...Joe Rogan, but then It started to get interesting, comedians and how they are affected by hecklers and then it just changed to critics, which I don't understand why, I mean they could have written that on the box that this is a movie about critics too.

Anyways by the end when Uwe boll is fighting the critics he comes off as a hero, which I thought was funny, I remember when I first read that he was going to fight
people who hate his movies I thought he was an idiot.

Also I loved this movie not just the hecklers part which I thought the movie was about but also the part about all the critics and stuff it was funny and informative.

i agree with you 100%... only i came across this movie via David Cross.

I myself dabbled in pacifism once. Not in 'Nam of course

Uwe Boll is a hell of a fighter. Still isn't a talented director.

You do know, he was fighting with inexperienced "nerds"?, who where paid to be there. Just thought you should know. Oh and btw an actual critic of his work did challenge him. Of course since it was a PR stunt to begin with , he doesn't really want to get physically destroyed against someone who knows what they're doing.

"One gay beer for my friend, because he's gay, and one normal beer for me, because I'm normal."

reply

He came across as a whiny baby who cant take criticism. He may have beaten some untrained people, but at the end of the day he still fails at his "profession"...

reply

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that when you said "who where paid" you meant, 'were' paid. And by the way, they weren't paid to be there, or to fight.. Just thought you should know.

reply

Correcting spelling mistakes on the internet is just lame.

Several mentioned the free trip, so yeah, they were compensated. Several mentioned they hadn't even seen any of his films. Sounds like a dumb gimmick to me.

reply

yes, i know and it was hilarious. those dudes were naive enough to think that it would all just be show, after publicly hating on the man from the safety of their mum's basement, it would all just be some dancing around for both parties advantage? I laughed my butt off during the after fight interviews.

reply

Surely a telling sign that a documentary has some serious credibility problems is when Uwe Boll comes across as "cool". And hilarious that a novelty boxing showcase where Uwe Boll, who almost by his own admission has no artistic integtity, invited some critics to a bout with him, a former amateur boxer, where he had promised basic training to the critics and to pull his punches, yet delivered on neither, is celebrated as a moment of a creative champion putting one over on the parasitic critic community.

reply

He gave them 3 months to train. They had time to prepare. It's not his fault if they didn't.

His movies suck, imo, but it was fun to watch him kick ass.

There is way more to boxing than being physically fit. I guess the critics he fought didn't know that either.

Creasey's art is death. He's about to paint his masterpiece.

Alright mother *beep*

If you didn't diss Uwe, ignore this entire post. If you did however, or have ever, then please continue.

I'm Nelson Chance Minter. You can call me Chance. I was the fourth (technically fifth if you count that guy in Spain) challenger to fight Uwe.

Let me cover the fight for you all:

No one was *beep* paid for it. We got a hotel room at the Sutton place, referred to as the 'Slutton' Place by Udo Kier. We got to go on set every day of Postal (Which is a good film out on DVD. Good laughs. Check it out.) And it was a Boxing Match FIRST. It was a PR Stunt SECOND. Everyone except for Richard 'Dick' (I mean that as an insult, not a shortened version of his name) Kyanka and Jeff 'Turncoat' Snyder knew it was a *beep* boxing match. Chris Alexander and I expected to leave the ring bruised.

Now, granted that in this docu apparently there is a clip of me saying House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark suck (I still stand by it), I've worked with Uwe on 3 films since. Far Cry (Which I also did commentary on), Rampage, and The Storm. All of which I did Behind the Scenes for, and am credited for here on IMDB. Let me ask this; If Uwe is such a terrible person, someone so 'uncool' and 'unheroic' why would he offer a then 17 year old a chance to take his first steps into his dream? Into becoming a filmmaker. Why? Because Uwe is the nicest, most *beep* hilarious and cool guy I've had the opportunity to meet.

I stand by House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark sucking, but seriously, don't call him a bad filmmaker, a bad director, or a bad person. Most of you no doubt have not seen Heart of America, his first US film, which is an incredible flick. Few of you have probably seen Far Cry, which shows that he may have killed a few video game franchises, but he's got the hang of it and is capable of turning a retarded ass video game into a damn decent B popcorn action flick.

On this regard we're entering a new era in Uwe Boll's career. One of social commentary. Very few of you have seen STOIC. This is an incredible, disturbing film based on all real events. Sean Sipos who is a great young actor, and Steffan Menekes truly show their acting abilities in this. TUNNEL RATS which few of you have seen is a great and fresh take on a war film.

The film I know not a single *beep* one of you have seen; RAMPAGE. I had the great honor of working on this film, and befriending the actor Brendan Fletcher whose talent as an actor is *beep* endless. I've had the great opportunity to see a rough cut, and this film is something no one should ignore.

Janjaweed also now known as Darfur is a film they just wrapped in South Africa dealing with the genocide in the Sudan. The treatment is fantastic. The cast is great. The way Uwe attacked this film was fantastic. Anyone can go get those documentaries like 'Darfur Now' or 'The Devil Rides on Horseback' but none of you will leave those films with nothing more than a "Wow that sucks."

What Uwe is doing in Darfur is showing you first *beep* hand how violent and terrible these massacres are. He isn't talking about it. He's *beep* reenacting it.

Now Uwe is working on a film entitled Max Schmeling about the great boxer who lived an incredible life. I have yet to read the script due to the format being something I can't open on Mac, but the treatment was phenomenal.

I truly hope you all grow up, quit exaggerating the truth, quit bashing someone you don't *beep* know, and really open your eyes to the great films Uwe is currently producing. These films are something either no one has had the balls to show, or something no one has ever had the balls to discuss.

If you read all of this, thank you. If not, well you're whats wrong with society anyway. Thank you for continually being a constant parasite on this hunk of blue and green *beep* we call Earth.

Peace *beep*

reply

Seems like a lot of wasted breath honestly. I do not have any posts on this thread, but noticed you had just left this so I read it. I personally thought it was very childish for him to challenge a bunch of no name critics to fight him. What did he prove by beating up a bunch of nerds? He may be a fantastic guy that makes fantastic movies. Why then lower himself to the level of "I am tougher than you?" It was quite honestly embarrassing to watch. I think he needs to grow up.

reply

Weren't you the guy that started saying, "...operatically bad...", but then the next scene seemed to cut you off? If so, I somehow imagined that you were about to say, "...that it's good." That's how I feel about some movies (the ones that get panned as being 3rd rate, etc.) I love a good crappy movie. Not all movies should be great, dramatic, artistic statements... and thank goodness for the "lose yourself for two hours" popcorn flicks that everyone seems to hate.

I think the point is that, we're all different, and we certainly don't all react the same to everything. What one person loves I'll find boring, and vice versa.

Maybe I'll watch some of Uwe's movies... and make my own mind up.

reply

Whatever you say, Uwe.

Every single post you've made on this entire site has been defining "his" crappy work.
You might want to be a bit less obvious.

reply

3 months really isn't enough time if he has already been training for a while

reply

No, I'm not the one who said it was operatically bad. I was the one who said House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, and Blood Rayne were bad. They then cut out me saying that I really enjoyed Heart of America and have enjoyed what I've seen of Postal and Seed as well.

Biased documentary.

And the fact is, is that he gave everyone an opportunity to come out on a film set. We all knew we were getting in a real ring and taking real punches. I boxed prior to the event for 7 months. I wasn't ready, but I knew what I was up against. There's nothing childish about that.

Being childish would be, "Hey guys, I'm not actually going to hurt you." And then wail the *beep* out of everyone. It was a great PR stunt, and an awesome opportunity for everyone. Chris Alexander has a documentary he's working on because of it. I've gotten to work on 3 films and have my own documentary in the works. The only 2 who didn't take advantage of the situation were Kyanka and Snyder, and THEY were the childish ones.

reply

That is a very biased view of what took place. You got something out of it, so of course you thought it was great. The fact remains that the challenge itself was incredibly childish. That is just a fact. If someone says something about me that I do not like, and I respond with "Oh yeah well I could kick your ass!", I have just acted like a whiny little bully on the playground of an elementary school. I ask again. What did he prove by beating up some nerdy critics? Did he prove he was a man? No. He proved he is an overgrown 5th grade bully. He just gets paid better. = P

reply

He showed his true colors when he refused to fight Seanbaby. A wise decision on his part, because Seanbaby would have destroyed him.

reply

Who was the fruitcake with the "Hi Mom" shirt on that was vomiting after his fight?

reply

They probably thought they could beat him easily because he was so much older than them. I didn't know anything about him, but the fight scenes cames across as hilarious because the snotty way they criticized him and the ease with which he beat them up.

reply

In response to the title of this thread:

Are you saying Uwe Boll isnt cool?

reply

In my personal opinion after watching some of his movies, I don't like his movies they are just bad with bad acting and bad production value, well I just thought almost all of them were just a waste, except for postal, it was a time pass movie with its moments.

Now to the 5th guy who got to fight Uwe Boll.

You are a hypocrite. Don't take me the wrong way, if I was in your shoes I would do the exact same thing, first you hate his movies but then you get this chance and you totally sold out...good job, you have to think about yourself first.(this is not sarcasm)

reply

"alone is the dark" truly is the worst movie ever.
it doesn't even make sense. anyone who makes a movie that bad DESERVES to be criticized, and it doesn't matter how many people he beats up who criticize it, the movie still sucks.
some movies are so bad they're good, that movie is so bad it's unwatchable. it's not even funny, it's just really really bad.
anyway, i'm sure they used the best shots he landed in the "boxing" matches, but it still seemed to include him punching in the back of the head a lot.
if mike tyson wrote a bad review of a uwe boll movie, would uwe challenge HIM to a boxing match? (i realize that mike tyson doesn't review many films.)

reply

I love Uwe Boll after seeing this film. That boxing match has to be one of the greatest things i have ever seen.

reply

Mr. Boll, there is no need to make comments about yourself.

reply

it just made him come off as immature, completely insecure about his abilities (because who gives a *beep* if you know you rule), and a bit simian. "I STRONGER THAN YOU RAAAWR". Isn't it an antiquated idea that "strength" is physical violence? I think he would prove himself stronger to ignore the critics. I must admit I want to see one of his movies now. They sound wonderfully bad.

reply

Yeah what a great idea! If I disagree or don't like something Stephen Hawking has said, all I have to do is challenge him to a fight. As he's almost immobile in a wheelchair, I like my chances. I guess that would prove I'm a better physicist, right?
