It would have bitten him in the butt a few times when he was jockeying with Skyler over the divorce and the kids and so forth. If Walt was cheating, Skyler might have had some ammunition she could use to crowbar herself and the kids out of there. That would have made Walt really mad, and he was capable of really horrible things under those pressures.

By the time Skyler was trying to escape Walt was pretty manipulative and nasty. His innocent acts during that period are super gaslight-y and borderline (?) sociopathic.
shareGiven that Walt was constantly in a war zone mode and his life was in danger or he was in danger of losing his freedom and family he should have enjoyed some hot young tail from time to time.
I'm not going to say anything bad about Skyler here but Walt was living life on the ultimate edge. Whether occasional casual sex or a real girlfriend on the side would have been more realistic. A woman on the side that Walt really cared about would have opened up writing opportunities and made Walt even more vulnerable.
Walt had no qualms about cheating he came on to the hot Latina assistant principle who was out of his league.
Walt and Lydia would have made a very powerful and dangerous couple. I could see that one.
