SPOILERS: The final episode with the machine gun.

SPOILER ALERT.

In the final episode Walter manages to kill all the Nazi biker gang (well almost) using the automatic setup with the Bren gun (or whatever it was) in his car. This was a major gamble - how did he know, for example, that the gang would be in a ground floor room and all within the limited range of the gun? How did he know he would be able to park his car within range and pointing in the right direction? I guess perhaps he didn't care too much as by then, he'd achieved his main goal which was to ensure his money was safe and he had no other real alternatives to get rid of the gang.

I thought of this as well.

Walter was a meticulous planner. I'm guessing he followed Todd at some point and observed the white supremacist compound before he set up his car.

Well, he clearly knew he was dying by that point. I think he'd honestly just reached the point where he'd burned all his bridges and was ready to end it, and if he could take out some of his enemies along the way, then great. If not, he'd be too dead for it to truly matter and at least he'd made sure his family would be okay. He'd also dealt with the gang a number of times before so he probably had some idea that they weren't necessarily the brightest set of cookies in the knife drawer.
