John Cusack looks NOTHING like Brian Wilson.

It makes no difference in this one. If the movie were more of a biopic that told the entire life story I think that then maybe it would have. But it's not really something I fixated on at all. Both Paul Dano & John Cusack are fantastic. I could not take my eyes off of Dano anytime he was on screen, and this is one of the best roles for Cusack in a long time.

I think it was perfectly cast, and definitely in favor of performance rather that physical attributions. I agree Cusack doesn't really look like Wilson, but in this performance he just bleeds the man. Incredible film. Def one I will be seeing again.

I thought the same thing until I saw it. I thought both Cusack and Dano were fantastic. I hope they don't cancel each other out when it comes to awards.

It's my one issue with the movie. Cusack was a distraction in every scene he was in. He is the same in this as he is in every film, and with one or two exceptions, I never believed him as Brian Wilson.

But Paul Dano was brilliant and made up for most of Cusack's shortcomings.

It didn't bother me that Cusack looks nothing like Wilson but rather Cusack looks so little like Dano.

I was impressed by both Paul and John. Cusack really surpassed my expectations. I'm so happy he did. Very believable and no he doesn't act like this in every movie. This performance was unique. Very happy customer here!

Is he iconic? I'd imagine most young folk couldn't pick out him or Glenn Fry out of a lineup.

I saw the movie. It's really good. They didn't do the "origin story" of The Beach Boys. It was strictly about Brian.
