Is this not a remake of Cassavetes' Gloria?

There is even a scene where Julia says her name is Gloria, was this a nod to the original? Her performance is very much like Gena Rowlands, but also very much her own. Thoughts?

It is not a remake of Gloria, but it was influenced by this and other Cassavetes films. Personally, I think Tilda's performance is far more reminiscent of Gena Rowlands as Myrtle in Opening Night.

The Gloria you're talking about was already remade a few years ago.
But how could THIS be a remake of Floria? It's not even the same story
