Great movie, hope to see more like it

I'm kind of late to the game with this wonderful film. It came out a few years ago but I only just now watched it after a friend raved about it. I enjoyed it so much I'm going to buy the Blu-ray. It's a really beautiful movie. The story is smart and complex but also pretty easy to follow, the acting is great, (I don't at all get what the guy below wrote about atrocious acting from the black actors...the entire cast is excellent), the film looks really gorgeous, and the directing is perfect for the story and style of movie.

I'd love to see more movies like this. How many dramas are there about black (American) characters living overseas? This is the only one I've seen. And then, this is a film for everyone, not just a black (or Asian) audience. Anyway, if anyone knows of more films out there like this, especially films with non-white characters abroad (I like movies with white characters abroad too, but this one is so fresh the way it has black characters in that situation), please let me know.

Also, I loved how the story took place in little Japanese towns and villages way off the beaten path, not the big modern city like we usually see in films about Americans in Asia.
