A fantastic horror/thriller..

Not enough praise can be heaped upon this stunning inde film, I'm guessing the film had a very small budget but the production values were excellent. We need more films like this. I thought it was great.

I totally agree, i loved it all round.
I would recommend this to everyone, it is alot more enjoyable wacthing a good aussie flick then watching an avergage one from the states.
I don't like it how Australian movies seem to get no attention what so ever, we should be supporting our indusrty alot more than we do.

Come on people give it a go, its worth it.

Actually, I think Austrailian horror movies are getting more and more attention now a days then they used too. Yes, they may not all be big in theaters, but many are hits with horror fans.

Personally, I thought this movie was OK. I have seen a few Aussie horrors (Storm Warning, Wolf Creek, and Dying Breed). Storming Warning and Dying Breed are definately on my favorites list. But again I have not seen many Austailian Horrors. Any other recommendations?

p.s.- just so you know im American

I liked Primal more than any of those - if you are into Indie Ozzie Horror. Budget held it back but it is a neat little horror flick.

It's a lot more enjoyable watching a good movie than an average one, wherever they happen to be made.

You saw Dingleberries?

I agree... everyone seems to think this film was mediocre, but I actually thought it was pretty good. I mean, I've seen a lot better, but I've definitely also seen a lot worse. Considering the small budget, the acting was great and the scenery was outstanding. Also, it had some really great scenes, especially the ending. Can't wait to see more of Jon Hewitt's work.

By the way, I'm an American who knows nothing about Australian films... could anyone recommend some that are comparable to this one?? I really love horror, but have a hard time finding any worth watching. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

if you enjoy horror try the aussie film called "The Tunnel". I think it is available online. It is so nice to see an American who would even watch an Aussie film.

reply

Yeah, well if you guys could speak so I could understand you. ;)

No, I really liked this film a lot, would loveit if I could figure out how to put closed caption on because I believe I miss some nuances of the film.

Some of the things which have confused people I thought were incredibly easy to catch, even if you can't make out all the dialog.

However, I do have a question, SPOILER:

was that the last hitchhiker in the bathtub? I couldn't tell, but how could he have gotten her there? And do we know what happened to James (or is that James in the bathtub, I just really thought it looked like the hitchhiker).

reply

---SPOILER---

The body in the bathtub was James.

I love Australian films. Watching this now in America on the Sundance Channel.

Very good film, you're hooked from the beginning.

Too bad the screenplay sucked and lost all the potential it opened with huh? Blah of a movie that could've been great.
