I can report back. My company's film, A Little Mouth to Feed, screened before this one.

We were thrilled to run before it; we could not have asked for better -- both in terms of fit for our own film, but also because we knew everyone was going to want to see it. It was a fresh, original, comedy-played-straight with side-splitting laughs and genuine scares. There's even a little something for sci-fi fans in it. Most interesting is that it was all shot in New York City, but never betrayed its 19th century Old World setting.

Glenn McQuaid is called a first-time director here, and while it's technically true, he obviously knows what the heck he's doing. There are gobs of FX, yet the whole thing is polished as any seasoned pro would make it. He knew what to do with his actors and played to their strengths. I think the fact that most of them, from all over the world, are willing to go from festival to festival to support this film pretty much shows how much they think this film is worth.

No word on distribution given in the Q&A. I chatted with Glenn afterward; no word given there, either. I personally look forward to it when it comes -- I really do want a copy on my shelf -- and hopefully, we'll get to screen before another of Glenn's films one day . . . :)

Thanks for the feedback! I regret that I wasn't able to post until now. I became very ill at the festival and ended up in the hospital. I'm just now catching up.

Let me say first of all how impressed I was with your short film. I've literally seen thousands at festivals over the years and most are somewhat forgettable. This was one of those rare ones which the audience applauded and didn't want to end.

I was the one who asked the question about whether or not it would be turned into a feature.

I Sell the Dead was refreshingly unique. For a "genre" film, it certainly broke more than a few rules. Think Poe meets Dickens meets Romero meets Monty Python. Try and sell that one. I sure hope they can, though, and that a smart distributor sees its potential.
