but the trailer is unforgivably awful.

don't let the trailer fool you. order is on ifc now in theatres for $6.99. it's definitely worth it. surprising funny, i laughed a lot while watching this movie. really enjoyed it mainly cos it's not like the typical crap you see hollywood churning out these days.

While I can appreciate any stab at a comedy/horror, this just missed the mark for myself and the people I was watching it with. Nobody even cared that we turned it off early, it just wasn't up to par. To be fair, i'll watch the whole thing at some point in the future, but unless it just takes off for the last 45 mins or so, this was a low budget dud.

The comedy was ham fisted and telegraphed from a mile away. Not to mention most of this has been done better in other movies. There wasn't much 'horror to it, and all the 'twists' were pretty lame.

And while it's not the typical horror movie, that doesn't automatically make it a good movie. Different can be good, or different can be bad, and this was just not that funny or really worth watching... it just seemed to be trying SO hard, yet still not pulling it off... my opinion anyway...

i agree w/ you 100%. i was waiting for the funny parts and ended up falling asleep. i tried.

Exactly. The plot was there, the acting was there, the sets and lighting were there, it was all set up to be a slapstick type hilarious horror comedy. But as we both know now, it didn't quite happen that way...

Oh well, not all movies can be winners...

It had some funny bits, it wasn't awful ...but it wasn't really good either 6/10 at a push

it reminded me of the brothers grimm a little bit, but i didn't like that either

I acctually enjoyed the end of the movie the most. Found the first parts to be quite somniferous but the end justified the rating of 6.8 perfectly.

I always loved watching Dom on LOST and think he has a great talent for British-style sarcastic humour..I always wondered why he didn't get more movie roles and after watching this I think I know why..he is very wooden in movies. This movie was pretty bad as it was and had very few giggly moments, but the only actor that showed any comedic timing was the bloke that played Willy.
I think the score on IMDB is very generous indeed for this snooze-fest.Too much monologue, bad acting and poor production.Sorry Dom.

The jokes and gags were all around their dialogs. I know in the US people are more used to something lighter and easy to understand but if you have the patience and the will to do so, the reward will be fair enough.
Also I understand the first part of this movie could appear slow but it was for character and story building which is usually called "exposition".
This "exposition" helps the audience to understand and care about the characters and get immersed into the story.
Definitely I will recommend this film to everybody I know. 9/10
