Captures some of what I wanted as a young reader

DC had a ton of comics and a ton of characters when I was kid and I consumed almost all of them, Blackhawks, Metamorpho, Starman, Dr. Fate, etc.

This movie and the animated series just missed the mark for me only because I was much older by the time they made their appearances as animated characters. The magic was gone even though the chance to see them interact against and off each other was part of the fun something was still missing.

Warner/DC should just bite the bullet and go full-on animation and re-invigorate there characters. Stop worrying about catching Disney/Marvel and just tap into their catalog full force.

There is no reason that a CGI Darkseid has to be in a live-action film?

Disney/Marvel is going to rely on animation and voice-acting to do their "What-If" series and have demonstrated that a fully-CGI Lion King and Jungle Book are highly profitable and entertaining.

Warner/DC should stop fiddling with this direct-to-DVD market and go head-on to a fully CGI rendered universe with a theatrical release and then a DVD release. If you have to motion-cap then motion cap but bring back all your characters fully rendered.

I liked this film. The animation style is what limited my ability to immersed and their decision to just make it a one off film.
