So, Did he really do it?

What's the consensus?

Eddie: "You just broke his ankle, Jack!"
Jack: "He shouldn't have been playing with adults." ii.iv

Oh, he did it. The movie left out alot of crucial forensic evidence which convicted him like blood spatter on the INSIDE of the shorts he was wearing that night which indicated he'd been standing over Kathleen as her blood was spraying. Most likely straddling her body as he was beating her to death. It was the forensics that convicted him. According to the jury.

He did it. No other possibility.

He did it, there's no other way 2 women he knew could die in the same manner and he's the last one to see both alive.

Of course he did it!

Tomorrow's just your future yesterday!

Although I think that the prosecution tried him for his lifestyle as much as the evidence, I still think they got the right guy. I really hope so. I'd hate to think that an innocent man is serving time for an accidental fall. But I don't think so.

I watched the VERY biased documentary and, even in it, the way Peterson manipulated the people in his life (most notably the Ratliff girls) was both obvious and disgusting.

All that said, though, I still think the prosecution really overplayed it's hand in a way that was almost as disgusting. They took jurors who were from a certain part of the country, of certain ages and certain socio-economic status and instead of just trying to prove the defendant's guilt, they set about trying to make those 12 people in the jury box hate the guy.

If they had a really strong case (and, IMO, they did), why put the escort on the stand (no offense, Brent, wherever you are ;-)? Why, instead of just entering the porn found on Peterson's computer into evidence, didn't they let that evidence stand on it's own rather than have Sergeant Freida opine about "Pure T feeeeeeeULTH!!!"?

Never know for certain, but I'd say he's guilty.

The phone is dead. Do you hear that, Vitus? Even the phone is dead.

"In the "Staircase" documentary (currently repeating on Sundance Channel), its obvious that he was more than ready and willing to go to prison."

Yeah, also in the extras, there is an interview with him 2 years later and if there was any doubt left, that destroyed it.

He wasnt outraged at being wrongfully convicted, he wasnt talking about progress of appeals, he wasnt talking about lying witnesses.

He was very reserved, and waaaayyyy too accepting of his fate for an innocent man.

He said "I dont miss alcohol, I dont miss good food. If I never had another great meal, it would be okay. I just miss my kids" and he implied that they havent come to see him.

But innocent? Not a chance.

Did you hear that now he says an owl did it. There was apparently a microscopic owl feather found in her Kathleen's hair. He says an owl flew in and attacked her causing the defensive wounds and the fall down the stairs. Of course he also stated that the EMT broke her neck while checking for a pulse.

Hey Jin! You better not be cheating on me!!

The owl theory is so absurd and shows the level of desperation that Michael Peterson feels. Loser.
