I've read it's coming out in May or July, sometime this summer. What will be on it? How far into the Kisstory will it venture? Will it include the Tom Syder show fiasco? Will it have the Largo show from 1979? That was awful by the way. Will it get into the first visit to Austraila? Will it include the Inner Sanctum show which was killer ya know. Will it include the "Firdays" performance, the only time any of the Elder's music had been played to that time. I hope it's full and 3-4 discs deep. It's about time this stuff has seen the daylight. Rocker Bob :)
Good point, I totally forgot about the movie maybe being a third disc in this set, it could happen. Hey, Good call! I have to think this set's gonna take us up to the makeup coming off, and set III will take us full circle, but if the movie comes with this one, that'll make it worth it right there. I have to movie on VHS, it's from Japan and has Japanese subtitles, very rare, got it in the 80s from a distributer in Milwaukee Oregon of all places, the place was Simmons corp, nothing to do with Gene, this was a warehouse that hooked me up with imports of the KISS picture discs from Holland back then. Got almost the whole catalog on picture disc and they're numbered, got some low numbers too. Only 10,000 of each made. Later, Rocker Bob :)
If they released 'Phantom' in part 2 then I would pee my pants. I haven;t ever seen that. All of it, at least. I would also love to see the Rio show. The War Machine performance from that never fails to blow my mind. Part 2 should be killer.
It is included but it's the European theatrical release and it's called KISS in Attack of The Phantoms. It contains additional scenes not in the TV version and most of the campy Hanna-Barbera music has been replaced with KISS music from the solo albums (mostly Gene's) and such. But, it is included and is on the first disc.
Cool points: Attack of the Phantoms Sydney show Fridays show Rio show Portugal show excert the Unmasking from MTV the Palace, Detroit show 90
SUCK Points: Largo 79 show is a bonus disc AND it's cut NO full Lick It Up show NO Mark St. John anything, a clip of a performance or rehersal (I did hear about an easter egg interview with him on Disc 2) MISSING: Animalize Uncensored NOTHIN from ASYLUM Philly 87 show is cut possible missing: 88 Monsters of Rock show ABSENT VIDEOS (esp., Let's put the X in Sex and You Make me Rock hard, the only thing they can represent Smashes, Thrashes and Hits with)
the first collection was good, this does have it's high points, but is far out weighed by the missing.
I'm watching KISSOLOGY II now! It's got the Euro version of Phantoms! But what's REALLY COOL is they remove all of the cheesy music that was originally on the TV version and replaced it with music from the SOLO ALBUMS! How cool is that!!!!
