Two Words: Flip-case Binoculars

All I can say in this movie's support, is that, like Robert Rodriguez did with Once Upon a Time in Mexico, they TRIED.......(and FAILED).

Once Upon a Time in Mexico had a great cast, some great characters, but his plot-dance routine totally sucked - the ingredients just didn't work and the fever did not come to a boil.

The same is true here, but "the weird" is much more clumsy, the action is mostly inconsequential filler. In the end there are no good reasons/excuses for any character to be where he is given events that we seen earlier in the narrative.

It's a real disappointment. Genrates a few chuckles, but just lame overall.
Just like a cheap set of flip-case binoculars.

I disagree.

those were Opera Glasses. Cheap, but common. Still an anachronism, since they didn't come out until about the late 40's.
