How did everyone know how to catch up with Tae-Goo? It would make sense that the Japanese army got a description of where the map leaves from the guy at the opium den as he saw the map. But how did Chang-Yi and Byung Choon (sp?) know where to go to intercept him?

It seems The Good and The Weird were drawn to the sounds of explosions and gunfire. I'd say don't think too hard about this movie.
