Why it's bad/disappointing

I'm interested to hear other perspectives from people who disliked this.

I was totally bored and disappointed, but I can't quite put my finger on why that is.

I enjoy silly action movies (Die Hard 4, The Transporter, Punisher War Zone), but somehow this movie just totally failed to engage me. The action seemed pretty run-of-the-mill (although I'm not finished yet; the train scene and Do-Won's rope shooting at the Ghost Market were solid) and the characters seemed pretty flat and uninteresting.

The high praise for this movie surprises me. I feel like it's the lucky recipient of "foreign film overappreciation," where an average movie is given extra credit just because foreign movies have more cachet (e.g. Come and See, The Host, High Tension, Funny Games, Breathless).

Thoughts? I hope it can stay civil on here because I'm don't feel like arguing with hypersensitive idiots who can't handle someone criticizing a movie they like.

I never understand people commenting, especially negatively, about movies that they dont finish watching.

I get it if you think a movie is so bad that you stop watching, but this OP said that he wasn't done watching yet. Wtf? Spend the hour, finish the movie, and then come and yap about it.

Look, I don't care if you like the movie or not. But to comment on how you "didn't like it" when you only watched the first part is, well, idiotic.

Considering that there is like a 30-minute chase scene in the last act that many agree is like nothing they've ever seen before, maybe if you had finished the movie, you might have a different perspective?

I swear, it's as if someone watched Titanic and complained it sucked because the ship never sank b/c they turned it off after Kate Winslet got out of the tub.

Come and see, average movie? Crazy talk. Fair enough if you didn't like it, but it's hardly an average movie.

Flat, uninteresting characters? Pa-lease! All three leads played very colorful, animated characters especially Kang-ho Song. The diving helmet scene was so hysterical, I almost shart myself!!
