He is Kim Ki-Duk, right?

He is, not only directing the movie from the outside, but from the inside as well... he decides wether they can see each other, kiss, have sex (he actually didn't intervine here, but he could have stopped them, or could have allowed them if the guard didn't let them do their thing)..

I didn't see anyone else that looked like him, so that person must be him..
besides.. it fits perfectly..

Just need confirmation to make sure I'm not crazy (?)

Yes,right away I thought the same too! I think this is something like that french movie,'Cache'. The director IS the one that decides behind the scenes. In Cache,it was the passing of the videotape. In 'Soom',he observes and control.

OMG.. thanks for the explanation. I saw this today and had no idea ho the guy was... yes, all his films are symbolic but directing from the inside... GENIUS!
