my sister's BF doesnt believe its the same actor

my sister's BF doesnt believe its the same actor even though everywhere online and the credits on the show says it is the same guy, my sister's boyfried (we are aussies by the way) he thinks that the voice is not the same in the US as is in the aussie version.

now trying to prove to him the truth is like talking to a 2 year old (this guy refuses to believe tomatoes are fruits not vegetables) wont believe it even while viewing scenes back-to-back from each version.

I tried explaining that maybe there is a voice coach involved or the accent is slightly altered for the US version, but like I said the guy is thick and stubborn and cant admit when he is wrong.

does anyone else think the voice of Wilfred is different in the US to the australian? and by different I mean do you think its dubbed by someone else?
because my sister's boyfriend wont even consider voice coaching for accent alteration.

stop worrying about this fool and question why your sibling would be with such an obstinate ignoramus. bigger picture stuff.

good advice, and yeah I wonder why she is with him too most of the time, hell she even asks herself the same thing.

reply

Well that said, he has toned down the accent, or at least the slang, for Am audiences.

His speech is clearer and slowed down for the U.S. but it is the same guy, and his actual voice.

As for the tomato thing, teach him this poem:

Fruits and Vegetables
Vine, Bush or Tree
Once picked, fruit ripens
Once picked, Veg spoils
Oh tomato, which one is thee?

Fruit!

the guy is a moron. He must be from either Frankston or Adelaide. Maybe Tasmania.

Just be glad that it's your sister's boyfriend and not yours =p

I know what you mean though, I once had an argument with someone refusing to believe that the Beowulf movie from '07 or '08 (the one with Angelina Jolie) was CGI and not live action. He refused to believe it because it 'looked too real' =p
